12.

On the 10th. January I went with Tung Cheung,

Chan Lam Tsai, Li Kwai Fan and others to an Eating House in the afternoon, and from the Eating House we went to Ng Shui Shang's house.

Ng Shui Shang, Li Chi Tin (a Petty Official)

and others were there.

Li Chi Tin asked us to go and shoot Yeung

Kui Wan, and said that the Viceroy Tax had promised a reward of between ten and twenty thousand dollars and official rank to the

murderers.

Li Kwai Fan, Chan Lam Tsai, Tung Cheung and

others agreed to go; but I refused.

13.

Li Kwai Fan, Chan Lam Tsai, Tung Cheung and

:

a man named Tsui Fuk then went to Yeung Kui Wan's house and 1

followed them.

Li Kwai Fan went first and I saw him go up

the steps in the lane leading to Yeung Kui Wan's door, and after

a short time I saw him come down the steps and speak to Chan

Lam Tsai and Tung Cheung who met him at the bottom of the steps.

Chan Lam Tsai and Tung Cheung went up the

steps leaving Li Kwai Fan on guard at the foot of the steps. A

few moments later I heard shots in Yeung Kui han's house, then Chan Lam Tsai and Tung Cheung came down the steps and rejoined Li

Kwai Fan and they all went down the hill together and I followed

them down to the harbour and then lost sight of them.

14.

I am informed and verily believe that shortly

afterwards Tung Cheung, Chan Lae Tsai and Li Kwai Fan received a reward of $5,000 each for this affair and official rank.

15.

Ng Shui Shang before the murder paid me $5

a month and when Ma Wong Hoi's party came down be paid me $140, but after the murder he refused to pay me anything more.
